What is a learning path on Smile and Learn?
Learning paths are predesigned packages of activities of the same subject. Students start with the first activity in the path and progress through the path as the difficulty increases, hence the name, “path.” For example, a learning path for first-grade level reading would include a set of readings on the same subject with increasingly complex vocabulary.
Where to find them
In Teaching Experience, our teacher analytics website, teachers can assign and create learning paths. Teachers can even add, remove, and change the order of activities. They can also assign pre-made Smile and Learn learning paths. If there’s a deadline to complete the path, teachers can set it to lock after a certain date. They can even choose to limit students to just their assigned paths during certain times of the day.
Divided by grade level, subject, and language
Each Smile and Learn learning path is sorted by subject and grade level. Students can also choose in which language they would like to complete the path. Teachers can also set the languages the path is available in through Teaching Experience. While in Teaching Experience, watch your students progress through the path in real time. The website will analyze your students’ strengths and weaknesses so you can adjust future paths to best fit their needs.
Alignment with standards
Our pre-made learning paths are also made according to U.S. standards. You can enjoy learning paths tailored to the professional standards of Common Core, NGSS, WIDA, Head Start, and coming soon, TEKS.
